Industrial Light & Magic. Star Wars Special

It is difficult to imagine the concept of "Digital Leisure" without considering the important influence George Lucas and Industrial Light & Magic (IL&M) have had on the configuration of a new type of cinematography which incorporates digital effects.

Founded in 1975 by George Lucas, IL&M studios are the authors of the special effects highlighting historical landmarks in the movie industry, including "Forrest Gump", "Jurassic Park", "The Mask", "Saving Private Ryan", "Twister", "Men in Black", "Mission: Impossible", "Jumanji", "E.T." and the “Star Wars”, "Star Trek" and "Indiana Jones" sagas.

In total, IL&M has participated in more than 120 films, winning 14 Academy Award Oscars in Hollywood. Its works have been included in 8 of the 10 box office hits of all time.
